Workshops

Fellowship Homeschool group and Little House Studio have come together to offer a 1.5 hour art class for 25.00 per student. Classes are grouped in 6-9 year olds and 10 to 15 year old groups. Classes are November 14, January 23, and March 27.

Fellowship Homeschool Group Individual Class Description

November 14

Students will learn about the proportions of the human body using a wooden Manikin statue.

Students will draw the Manikin, paying close attention to the size of specific body parts in relation to other body parts.  Example: How many head shapes can be fit into the torso shape?

Using the Manikin and finding these comparisons will help the student with future drawing skills.

Once the Manikin is drawn proportionally, students will trace the drawing onto cardstock, which will be cut out and joined together with brads so that the piece can actually pose.

Time permitting, we will use our poseable figures to draw figures in action.

January 23

Printmaking

Students will learn about RELIEF PRINTMAKING.  A printing block will be carved, leaving a raised area that will be inked and printed.

6-9-year-olds will be creating with a Styrofoam block

10-15-year-olds will be carving a “soft cut” block

March 27

Mixed Media

Collage, Painting, and ink

Students will experience mixed media in creating a guided assignment using paint, collage, and ink in one art piece.
