Spiritual Art Retreat in Santa Fe ’26

Spiritual Art Retreat in Santa Fe ’26

I am on a journey. It is so interesting to me that I teach art and create an environment for authentic art-making, but I myself rarely make art. Last fall, I signed up for an 8-week art therapy session with a group of 9 women. Each week we met for 2 hours. Our first hour was basically group therapy. We sat in a circle and shared whatever was on our minds at the time. I really enjoyed that time with these women. All of us were at different places in our lives, and all of us were very understanding of each other’s circumstances. In the second hour together, we created art from a prompt using random art supplies. It was eye-opening for me. I rarely just allow myself the time or the freedom to be creative. After that 8-week exercise of discovery, I read Christopher Miller’s book “The Spiritual Artist: We are designed to create”. Then I signed up for his Spiritual Artist retreat in Santa Fe. What a wonderful experience. I am also learning to be a facilitator of “Painting from your Soul”, where I will be guiding women in painting and exploring themselves through archetypes. All of these classes, books, and therapy have only confirmed my desire to teach art in a healing, opening-up way, as well as to open and heal myself. Stay tuned. I hope to continue this journey and share with you every step of the way!
